A year away from F1 appears to have done wonder for Jacques Villeneuve, who returns to the cockpit for Renault this weekend.
Never one to hold back, the 1997 champion admits to having mellowed over the past twelve months, and consequently feels no bitterness towards his rivals or former employers.
Of Michael Schumacher, with whom the Canadian enjoyed some epic battles during his WilliamsF1 heyday, Jacques said: "I met him in Monaco and it was very cordial. Michael has achieved a lot and this year has been very impressive."
And of former teammate Jenson Button, who he once likened to a 'boy band': "There's no vendetta with Jenson," said the Canadian. "I'm quite happy he's doing so well actually. It's better to beat someone you respect. There's no point thinking every driver is your enemy."
"Over time everybody mellows a bit," he added.
Let's just hope he hasn't mellowed too much.
