Anyone who has been to Monza will be aware that when it rains, it rains.
At this time of the year thunderstorms in the region are frequent, and though short, the amount of rain, and force with which it falls, is significant.
Although sunshine is forecast for Friday and Saturday, it's thought that we could see some heavy rain on Sunday, which would certainly spice up the action.
Even if it doesn't rain during the race however, a heavy thunderstorm in the morning could still have an effect. In addition to 'holding' rain water, the trees that line the circuit prevent the sun from drying out the track, resulting in a number of damp patches at various points around the Autodromo Nazionale.
