Looking ahead to 2005, and with a place in the top three of the 2004 Constructors' Championship looking highly unlikely, BMW Motorsport boss Mario Theissen is convinced that team harmony will be the key to success.
Having possibly looked along the pitlane to Ferrari, the German believes that continuity and stability is an absolute must for a successful team.
"This is an extremely important factor," he says. "It's similar to an orchestra. For a perfect result, it is vital that all members of a team combine their forces. And if I exchange a member of the orchestra every third week, I'll never get a perfect result."
After a certain amount of 'discord' within the team over the last couple of seasons, Theissen will be hoping that Mark Webber and Jenson Button will be able to help BMW WilliamsF1 make some beautiful music in 2005 and beyond.
That's is if Button is to be prised away from the Brackley Philharmonic.
