Team boss Frank Williams has confirmed that the FW26 will run with a conventional nose in next weekend's Hungarian GP, the team having opted to drop the 'hammerhead' configuration revealed in January.
"The team will present its cars in Hungary with some aero modifications, including a return to a more conventional nose and front wing solution," said the Englishman.
When the FW26 was launched, the radical nose caused a sensation, with team boss Williams admitting that he found it "ugly". However, he admitted that should it prove to be successful, he would grow to love it.
Of course, if it had been successful we would have seen more cars sporting similar devices. Now, after 12 races of the 2004 season, WilliamsF1 has clearly decided that enough is enough, and opted for a more conservative approach.
