Toyota technical director Mike Gascoyne believes that the FIA's proposals for 2005 and 2006, are good for the sport and will level the playing field.
Talking to BBC Radio's Five Live, Gascoyne said: "There may well be a mix-up because it brings everyone back to the same level. Some teams are doing a better job than others.
"A big aerodynamic change is a challenge," he added, "and if you get it right you may well get an advantage."
Having announced the proposals, the teams now have until September 6 to come up with their own suggestions, otherwise the FIA will push its suggestions through.
