NEWS STORY
Just weeks after everyone, including his former boss Ron Dennis, totally dismissed talk of a return by two-time world Champion, Mika Hakkinen, it appears that the Finn could indeed be thinking of staging a come back.
Talking at Silverstone, Dennis admitted that Hakkinen had recently approached him and asked for advice.
"We had a long conversation," said the McLaren boss. "He sought my opinion. I gave it as a friend and he went back to Finland to consider the position."
"We had a long conversation," the Englishman continued, "and I can honestly say that not only do I not know but I don't think he knows either. It is something that he is reflecting on."
At a time when many F1 fans are praying for the return of another former champion, Jacques Villeneuve, the news that Hakkinen is even considering a come back will have tongues wagging, and possibly cheque books poised.
Many believed he quit too young and still had another title or two in him, while others believe that the Finn was one of the few drivers that Michael Schumacher truly feared.
