It's been revealed that the Formula One Commission, which met in London today, has voted not to change the current qualifying format.
Therefore Bernie Ecclestone's proposed format - whereby drivers would participate in two 25-minutes sessions, with the aggregate time deciding the grid - due to be introduced at Silverstone, will not happen.
Instead, the current format, whereby cars go out one at a time in two sessions, will continue.
It's understood that team bosses felt that a change to the current format would be seen as a negative move.
