That's what British newspaper The Guardian is suggesting.
With Schumacher sidelined for this week's Jerez test, and a "question mark" over his fitness for the French GP, and thereby the British race, which follows one week later. Alan Henry suggests that Jacques Villeneuve could make a timely 'guest appearance' for the Grove outfit.
Certainly, Villeneuve has been linked with the British team for some time, with dozens of stories appearing in newspapers and on websites in recent months, claiming that the French-Canadian is to take part in secret tests at all manner of circuits.
The speculation has not been helped by comments made by Frank Williams and Patrick Head, who although refusing to give a firm commitment, suggest that the 1997 World Champion could indeed test for the team.
This weekend, Villeneuve is in Britain, to drive his father's 1978 Canadian GP winning Ferrari at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, might he possibly be persuaded by his former employers to help out in their time of need, and what better time for the French Canadian to prove that he still has what it takes.
Interesting.
