The organizers of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, have revealed that Jacques Villeneuve is to drive the Ferrari 312T3 which his father, Gilles, steered to victory at Montreal in 1978, his first ever win.
The 1997 World Champion will drive the car in two runs on Saturday only.
The French-Canadian rarely mentions his father, who was killed in 1982, when Jacques was only 11, though the former Ferrari driver is still idolised by race fans around the world.
The sight of Jacques driving his father's car is sure to be an emotional event, not least for the former BAR star.
In recent weeks there has been continued talk of Villeneuve returning to F1, indeed Frank Williams recently revealed that the French-Canadian could test later this year. Jacques has also revealed that he would love to drive for his father's old team, even if it meant joining Michael Schumacher.
