In a surprise move... Aston Martin has confirmed a contract extension that will see Lance Stroll race into the new era of F1 regulations.

According to today's release, "Lance has played an important role in the Aston Martin project since he first joined the Silverstone-based team in 2019".

He has now completed more than 150 F1 starts, with three podiums to his name.

The extension gives the team an unchanged line-up for a third consecutive season bringing valuable continuity.

"I'm super happy to have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond," said Stroll. "It's amazing to see how far we've come in the last five years; we've grown so much as a team and there's still so much more to look forward to."

"We are delighted to confirm Lance's future with Aston Martin Aramco," added Mike Krack. "He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.

"The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions. We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together."

"Right now Lance is safe due to the car not being podium worthy.

How much better can someone do than Alonso has in that car? Alonso is hardly lighting the points race on fire.

Lance was more in jeopardy last season. Much closer to Alonso now. Alonso starts winning and Lance is at bottom of points, thing was start changing. The Board will put more pressure on dealing Lance. "

Joking aside, Only real contribution Stroll jr. adds to the team is giving the mechanics a lot of practice... a lot. Everyone knows its Alonso driving the development and the team would probably have more in the budget for upgrades if the weren't throwing all that cash towards fixing Strolls car from the myriad of rookie-esque crashes.

As the adage goes "money talks and bullsh*t walks", however in this case, the bullsh*t sticks around. "
