Lewis Hamilton has been summoned by the Jeddah stewards for not respecting double waved yellow flags/lights in FP3.

The world champion was involved in two incidents in the space of a couple of minutes during the session, the first of which saw Pierre Gasly having to take avoiding action after coming across the Briton who was driving slowly whilst the AlphaTauri driver was on a hot lap.

Shortly after, and in the more serious incident, the Mercedes driver almost collected Nikita Mazepin who, again, was on a flying lap whilst the Briton was on a cool-down lap.

"You didn't tell me, I had no idea he was coming," Hamilton told his crew over the radio, aware of how close he'd been to disaster.

Haas subsequently raised the incident with Michael Masi only to be told that the race director had spoken with the German team.

Half-an-hour after the session the stewards issued Hamilton with a summons, telling the driver to attend at 19:00, an hour before practice is due to get underway.

The Briton is charged with an "alleged breach of Appendix H, Art. 2.5.5.b) of the FIA International Sporting Code, not respecting double waved yellow flags/lights at 17:22".

At the last round, in Qatar, title rival Max was handed a 5-place grid penalty when he was deemed guilty of ignoring the double-waved yellows followed Pierre Gasly's puncture which caused the AlphaTauri driver to stop on the main straight.
