Red Bull's Infiniti partnership ends

Red Bull and Infiniti have announced that their commercial partnership will end later this month.

A statement issued by both parties reads:

Further to the announcement that Red Bull Racing has partnered with Tag Heuer for the naming rights of the team’s power unit for the 2016 season, the team today announces that its commercial partnership with Infiniti will conclude at the end of 2015.

Red Bull and Renault have reached a mutual and amicable agreement that will see the French car manufacturer continue to supply the team with engines for the 2016 Formula One season, and this new agreement does not cover any marketing activity for the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

During their commercial partnership from 2011 to 2015, Infiniti and the team have enjoyed incredible success on the track, winning three Drivers' and three Constructors' Championships, taking 35 Grands Prix wins, 37 pole positions and 80 podiums in total. Infiniti continued its support of the team off track, engaging consumers with its many innovative activations.

Christian Horner, Team Principal, Red Bull Racing: "We would like to say a big thank you to Infiniti for their contribution to the team since they joined us as a commercial partner in 2011. They became the title sponsor of the team in 2013 where Infiniti enjoyed greater visibility than any other manufacturer in the sport. We wish them all the best with their plans for the future."

Whilst the split with Infiniti proves that nothing last forever, in the days surrounding the season finale in Abu Dhabi, the Austrian team announced that partnerships with Exness - one of the world’s largest retail foreign exchange brokers - will continue, whilst technical partnerships with Siemens, OZ Racing and Sabelt have also been extended.

On Friday, the Milton Keynes based outfit confirmed that it will use a Tag-Heuer badged Renault engine next season.

"How much have Tag Heuer paid to have their name on an engine that will continue to be known as a Renault? Have RB made another badge for the boss of Tag Heuer which says "Prat".

"I wonder if they will as easily criticize a TAG Heuer Power Unit as they did the Renault."
