As his team calls on the services of sports psychologist Dr Ceri Evans, Lewis Hamilton says it is not for him.

The German team has called in Evans, who has worked with the All Blacks and Liverpool Football Club, in an effort to further focus and improve the team. However, Hamilton, who in the past has shown a tendency to wear his heart on his sleeve and seemingly allow outside influences to impact his performance, says he has no need of Evans services.

"I've never had it, never needed it and will never have it," he told reporters in Barcelona. "So we'll never speak of it again unless I start going crazy.

"For me, as a driver, it's not something I feel I need because since I was eight years old I've won every championship I've competed in," he continued, "and all I've needed is me and my family.

"This was really for the team," he added. "They want to be the best everywhere and sometimes it's good to get outsiders' points of views on the way you carry yourself, the way the team communicates and all those different things. I'm sure they're trying to do everything as good as they could do. There are things you can learn from different sports and they are trying to see if there is anything they can learn."
