Whilst many of his rivals will be hoping for the rain to make an appearance on Sunday, Lewis Hamilton admits that a wet race would be his biggest fear.

One of several drivers who usually excels in the wet, the Englishman, who is unhappy enough with the handling of his Mercedes in the dry, fears a wet race would be even worse.

"Throughout my career, in the rain was always best for me, that was when I could make a difference," he said following yesterday's practice sessions, both of which saw only one lap completed on dry tyres - and they were the experimental slicks for 2014. "In this car, there's no hope for me. I don't know what's going on.

"We're really, really struggling with the throttle mapping and all these kinds of things," he continued. "Clearly the car's quick enough because Nico's able to do it, so I really have to just work hard and figure out what it is.

"I'm struggling just to keep it on the track for some reason," he admitted. "Same in Australia, and I can't remember where else it's been raining, but it's always been the same."

Whilst teammate Rosberg was quickest in both sessions, edging out the Red Bulls in the final moments of FP2, Hamilton was fifth overall, 0.84s off his teammate's pace.
