Force India duo hoping for more after the break

Mat Coch writes:The Hungarian Grand Prix was a race to be endured by Force India, the team unable to fight for points despite promising signs in qualifying.

A poor start from Paul di Resta saw the Scot relegated from twelfth to fourteenth on the opening lap. While he eventually raced his way back to where he'd started the damage was already done.

"It's not a reflection of where the car was today," said di Resta after the race. "We definitely had better times but the launch procedure was not good again as it was in Hockenheim.

"We really need to analyse that because it's letting us down. Had we probably stayed in front of Nico Rosberg we probably would have beat him, but that's the way it is."

Di Resta's optimism was not shared by teammate Nico Hulkenberg, who lost out to Rosberg in the first round of stops. "I think eleventh was the maximum potential today," he said. "It was a very difficult race to be honest, (I was) struggling with the balance a lot and rear degradation."

While the drivers views may differ on their respective races their desire to see the car take a step forward is very much aligned.

"We'll keep pushing on, we're not going to give up," said di Resta. Hulkenberg was more straightforward. When asked what he was hoping for after the summer break he laughed and said "some more performance from the car."

However the both admit it will not be easy, but hope that after the shutdown things will improve. "We need to work hard, analyse again what happened today and try to improve it," said Hulkenberg.

"The guys need a good rest and I think just analyse everything and hopefully we'll come back at Spa in good form," di Resta agreed.
