Surely Sebastian Vettel had his tongue very firmly in his cheek he said he didn't understand why he made such a poor start to yesterday's German Grand Prix.

"Normally we have very good starts, so I'm not really sure what happened today," he moaned.

Well Seb, it goes like this. You were so bloody intent on forcing Fernando Alonso towards the pitwall you failed to notice the other shiny red car coming up on your left hand-side.

"Simples," as they say.

Meanwhile, as race fans puzzle over why the German holds up one finger after every win or pole position, it took Ferrari to give the finger to the sport and its fans.
