Force India's Tonio Liuzzi has been handed a 5-place grid penalty for tomorrow's British Grand Prix after being adjudged as having impeded Nico Hulkenberg during today's qualifying session.

The incident, which happened at the end of Q2, was caught on camera, and even at the time it was thought that Liuzzi would be lucky not be punished.

After a brief investigation by the stewards, who include 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell this weekend, Liuzzi - who had qualified fifteenth - was handfed the penalty which moves him back to twentieth.

"We thought that we had to keep Nico behind and I didn't realise he was on a hot lap," he said after being handed the penalty.
