While the timing of the deployment of the safety car and subsequent penalties meant that a number of drivers lost out on Sunday, the only driver to speak out - and how - was Fernando Alonso. But if anyone should be venting his spleen it's Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi.

The Japanese driver, who gave one of the best performances of the day, aided by a brave gamble on tyre strategy, has since revealed that when he overtook Alonso to take eighth place he was unaware that it was the final lap.

After a hit and miss season thus far, the youngster's performance on Sunday, particularly the way in which he held Jenson Button and the rest at bay, gave us another glimpse of the obvious talent Kamui displayed in the final races of 2009, while also justifying Peter Sauber's gamble in employing the youngster.

However, while Fernando apologises for his outbursts, we wonder how long it will be before Peter Sauber follows suit and apologises to Kamui.

Over the years we've seen drivers forced to carry out all manner of duties in their attempts to appease their employers and sponsors, some silly, some downright embarrassing.

However, getting poor old Kamui to 'work' in a Burger King outlet last Thursday was the absolute limit.

Forget the outstanding performance on the streets of Valencia on Sunday, for rolling up your sleeves and coating your Whoppa with extra relish and onions - and doing it with a smile - Kamui we salute you.
