Speedcar Series today conducted the first of a 2 day test session at the Dubai Autodrome. Eight teams and 14 drivers attended the event.

Teams from various parts of the globe turned out to test the 6.2 litre V8 Speedcars including David Price Racing from the UK; Malaysian team Meritus Racing, Christian Jones Racing from Australia and German Phoenix Racing that also ran in Speedcar Series' debut season. Three teams from Italy including AF Corse (winner of the FIA GT Championship), Durango and N Technology were also present.

Claudio Berro, Speedcar Series' Operations Director said, "We're pursuing a different strategy this year by leasing the cars to teams as opposed to maintaining the cars ourselves as we did last season. We are targeting professional teams that have proven track records in motorsport with successful racing histories.

The evolution of the cars is equally important to growing Speedcar Series and the new fuel injection system will make for better track action and excitement. The cars have already shown better performance compared to the ones from last year and we are very happy that our strong technical have achieved this."

The drivers will continue testing tomorrow. They will reconvene for a final test run on 23-24 November, 2008 before the start of Season 2 at the Dubai Autodrome on 4-6 December, 2008.
