A1 Team Ireland has announced that Adam Carroll and Niall Quinn will renew their driving partnership for the forthcoming A1GP World Cup of Motorsport starting with the Zandvoort event on October 4th and 5th.

The 2007/08 A1GP series witnessed Team Ireland enjoy its most successful season in the World Cup of Motorsport to date, Adam Carroll winning the Mexican A1GP Feature Race and claiming a further three podium finishes to give the team a 6th placed finish in the series. Adam will once again be the team's main driver for the season with Niall Quinn, Rookie and Reserve Driver, taking part in the Friday Rookie Practice sessions.

Adam Carroll, 25 and from Portadown, N.Ireland, is regarded as one of the most talented drivers in international motor racing, his strong performances for Team Ireland last season underlining his reputation. After scoring a string of strong performances in the first half of the season he recovered from some bad luck mid-season to score Ireland's first victory in A1GP in Mexico and backed that up with podium finishes in the final two rounds in Shanghai, China, and Brands Hatch, UK. A five times winner in GP2, the feeder series to Formula One, Adam will help Ireland start the new A1GP season as one of the favourite for further race victories and a championship title assault.

"I am really looking forward to the new season and racing the new A1GP car," said Adam Carroll. "We have one of the strongest teams in the pit lane and after the good finish to last year's series we have to set our sights on being a contender this year. The new car looks fantastic and is a real credit to A1GP. We are here to win."

Niall Quinn, 20 from County Meath, won his place in Team Ireland after claiming Motorsport Ireland's Dunlop Young Racing Driver of the Year in 2007. After making his debut for the team in the Rookie practice session at the A1GP, Sydney, Australia in January he remained with the team and helped play a pivotal role in the Mexico win when he started the weekend by setting the 2nd fastest time in his session.

"I am really happy to be working with Team Ireland going into this season. Last year taught me a lot and we achieved an enormous amount. Obviously I'd like to race rather than just do the Rookie session on a Friday, but this A1GP rule really does give a young driver like me a fantastic opportunity to drive a car at this level, work with top technical people and learn tracks all over the world."
