The thirteen GP2 teams on duty at Paul Ricard dedicated this morning to preparations of Spa-Francorchamps and Monza, the final two rounds of the 2008 championship. Therefore, the drivers ran on the 2A track configuration at Le Castellet.

Luca Filippi (right) was the quickest, but was closely followed by teammate Romain Grosjean, with the Campos drivers setting the 3rd and 4th best times, Petrov in front of di Grassi. Andreas Zuber completed the Top 5 while Dams’ Kobayashi posted the 6th fastest time, ahead of Pantano, Rodriguez and Villa.

It wasn’t a good morning for the iSport drivers with Chandhok crashing into Buemi one hour before the end of the session, and an oil leak problem for Senna. His engine will be replaced for the afternoon session.

Also unhappy was Christian Bakkerud. The Super Nova Racing driver did not take part in the session because of a recurring back pain.
