The GP2 Asia championship leader, Romain Grosjean, set the fastest lap time this morning during Free Practice in Sepang.

The ART Grand Prix driver was the quickest, but was closely followed by Luca Filippi at the wheel of his Qi-Meritus Mahara, the only Malaysian team in the championship. In third place, Adrian Valles proved to be very competitive once again with a 1:46.573.

For the first time in the Top 5 this season, Marco Bonanomi and Piquet Sports finished just in front of the two iSport International cars, with Bruno Senna leading Karun Chandhok. The Top 10 is completed by Davide Valsecchi, local driver Fairuz Fauzy and the second Qi-Meritus Mahara man Hiroki Yoshimoto.
