Jean Todt has confirmed that Ferrari will launch its 2008 contender, currently designated the F2008, at Fiorano on January 6.

Pitpass understands that 2007 World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, will have his first run in the car the following day.

News of the launch date was confirmed at a meeting with the Italian media on Wednesday, with the Ferrari CEO revealing that he will not actually attend the launch.

"I won't attend the launch as I'm coming back from a vacation in Malaysia on the following day," said Todt, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. "As for the races, I will go once in a while," he added.
