Earlier this year, Ebury Press, the publishers of 'Bernie', the first officially endorsed biography of Bernie Ecclestone, announced that the launch of the book was "imminent", claiming that the long-awaited tome would be launched on 4th October 2007.

According to Amazon however, the book has now been delayed until 1 May 2008, a seven month postponement, the latest in a series of delays.

"It must be the truth, I have nothing to hide," said Ecclestone, when Watkins began work on the book - round about the time that Hyde Park consisted of a handful of acorns.

Clearly, the truth will have to wait a little bit longer.
