In what some might see as sour grapes, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has said that he is not enjoying the 2007 Formula One World Championship.

"I don't like it much," he told journalists at a special event in Maranello marking the 60th anniversary of the manufacturer, "I don't like it for many reasons.

"They need to change the rules on overtaking," he continued, "I don't like the rules on the safety car that seemed to play roulette in Monte Carlo. I don't like it because it does not seem that races are truly fought for aerodynamical reasons and it is much more difficult to overtake.

"I believe that Formula One, which is enjoying great international success with new countries and new fans, must quickly face the problems," he continued, "and Ferrari will push very hard."

However, as his F1 team was instigating legal proceedings against Nigel Stepney, a member of the Maranello outfit's 'dream team', which secured six successive constructors' titles, Montezemolo insists that his team can still fight for the 2007 titles.

"We have two strong drivers and we have very good competitors and we must not forget in the first four races we were strong," he said. "We are talking about two or three fractions of a second," he continued, referring to the gap to McLaren. "We have to improve on these milliseconds here and there in order to be competitive. We have to recover the competitiveness that we have lost in the last two months."
