Former Macau GP winner, Alexandre Premat, who was part of France's winning team in A1 GP's debut season, and drove the third Spyker at Shanghai, looks to be heading to Champ Car, hoping to follow in the footsteps (tyre tracks?) of Sebastian Bourdais.

Premat, who finished third in this year's GP2 Championship, will test for the Eric Bachelart's Mi Jack Conquest Racing team which is currently contesting the 2006 Champ Car World Series, getting his first test at the Houston circuit on Tuesday 28 November.

Alexandre Premat commented: "Having had a taste of F1 during Friday testing at the Chinese Grand Prix, I'm really looking forward to trying out the competition in Champcar at the test in Houston. Depending on how that goes, my future may well be in the United States."
