Bridgestone has confirmed to Pitpass that it has "pencilled in" three tests later this year, thereby bringing 2006 to a close.

With the withdrawal of Michelin, Bridgestone is the sole tyre supplier in 2007, even though a control tyre wasn't scheduled to be introduced until 2008.

Those teams that up to now have been using Michelins, including back-to-back champions Renault, will be keen to start work with the Japanese company as soon as possible.

The first test takes place at Barcelona (November 28-30), with two further tests at Jerez in December (6-8 and 13-15).
