Karthikeyan to run Williams-Toyota at Silverstone

Narain Karthikeyan will be doing three days of running for WilliamsF1 this week, running an interim FW28 car fitted with a Toyota V8 powerplant and 2007 spec gearbox.

According to a WilliamsF1 source, this is "essentially as a first systems test to verify the interfaces between Toyota and WilliamsF1 hardware", which will allow the Grove outfit to look at the "usual stuff - cooling behaviour, electronics, TC, etc "

It's understood that the former World Champions are two months ahead of last year in terms of running an interim car with next season's engine, the team dealing with the potential disruption of changing engine partner by getting ahead of the game

WilliamsF1 will also be running a Cosworth-powered chassis to do compound selection work for Suzuka and to test/validate some aero upgrades for the remaining races, with Alexander Wurz on duty.
