'Grand Prix: The Business of Motorsport', a new independent monthly magazine, will launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

With the endorsement of many senior figures and organisations within the sport, Grand Prix will bring top-class journalism, fair and balanced reporting, and a true insiders' view which will be essential reading for anyone involved, or preparing to be involved, in this complex, fascinating, and fast-changing business.

Editors, Christian Sylt and Caroline Reid, are experts in analysing the business of Formula One and other motorsports. They are authors of the first guide to investing in Formula One and cover the subject for the Evening Standard, Independent on Sunday and Sunday Express. Christian has also commented on the industry for Channel 4 News and Caroline is former editor of the official Formula One Media Guide.

'Everyone we speak to, from those very few who decide on the sport's direction, to those whose sponsorship and technical input literally make the wheels turn, have encouraged us to get Grand Prix out,' said Christian. 'These are incredible times for the business of motorsport, from the track to the boardroom.'

The Sylt and Reid will be supported by a team of writers reporting on motorsport business from around the world. These include the highly respected Joe Saward and sports media expert Marc Cutler.

Grand Prix is published by ContentKings, an independent company established by Matthew Guarente, a former director at Condé Nast Contract Publishing, who was also a senior editor at Sunday Business/The Business as well as Bloomberg News.

As well as the business of Formula One, which generates in excess of $4bn in revenues annually, Grand Prix will also cover the major motorcycle championships, American motorsports, endurance racing and junior single-seater series.

A 100-page glossy, Grand Prix will be impartial, in-depth and indispensable to those who make the wheels turn. This will be achieved by controlled circulation distribution on a print run of around 8,000. The magazine will cover all key aspects of the business of motorsport, from managing a team to making the best of a sponsorship to reviewing the best jet ownership programs.

Max Mosley, the president of motorsport's governing body, the FIA, has applauded the project. "The FIA welcomes the news that the business of the sport will be covered by a serious magazine," said Mosley. "Although we are not responsible for the commercial side of Formula One and function solely as its regulator, the FIA is glad that this important subject will be dealt with in a responsible manner which will clearly be of benefit to the entire sport."

Grand Prix will also be the exclusive F1 business magazine partner of the Motor Sport Business Forum, the must-attend event for motorsport's global commercial community, which takes place in Monaco on 6-7 December 2006.

The magazine will be an invaluable reference tool for the motorsport industry and it is keenly anticipated by the car manufacturers involved in Formula One.
