Anyone who has been to Monza will verify that when it rains, it truly rains.

Some of the rain-bursts might last only a couple of minutes, but during that time a lot of water falls from the sky... at a velocity worthy of the great Italian race track.

On most days the strong sun will soon dry the track, however, the trees that overhang parts of the circuit hold rain water that will continue to fall for some time, thus making conditions difficult.

Rain will bring out the best - and worst - in man, machine and tyre, it can turn almost any race on its head.

Therefore, if the forecasters have got it right, we could be in for a more exciting weekend than originally anticipated, since it appears we could be in for rain on all three days of the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

We could be in for a very, very interesting weekend.
