After a six week ban, testing resumes today, when all the teams, bar Red Bull, begin a three-day test at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the Milton Keynes outfit beginning a two-day test tomorrow.

Although on-track testing has been strictly verboten during much of August, which means the majority of the teams last tested at Jerez in late July, work has continued in the factories, where dynos, rigs and windtunnels have allowed the teams to continue their development.

With the World Championship now entering its final critical phase, many teams will be keen to try out their latest solutions in anger, while engine manufacturers will also be keeping an eye on the October 8 deadline, by which time engines to be homologated for 2007 have to be handed over.

Over the course of the three days, the teams will run the following drivers:

Toyota: Ralf Schumacher (30/31) , Jarno Trulli (30/31), Ricardo Zonta (29) and Olivier Panis (29)

BMW: Nick Heidfeld (29/30), Robert Kubica (30/31) and Sebastian Vettel (29/31)

Red Bull: Christian Klien (30/31)
