Seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher, is preparing for the British Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at Silverstone.

"Silverstone is one of the circuits with the longest traditions in our sport", said the German. "I have always enjoyed it and this time too I cannot wait to take on the track. It is a fantastic circuit and one on which the car needs to be set up and balanced well. I enjoy challenges like this and I am sure that we will be able to perform admirably.

"What I also like about Silverstone is that the fans are very knowledgeable," he added. "They are supporters who really love Formula 1 and there are lots of them so it is natural that you want to do your best.

"We have to try to do well considering the current situation in the world championship," he admitted. "It is obvious that we have to close the gap in the standings and we are determined to do it from the next Grand Prix on.

"Last week's test session went well and we have every reason to be optimistic for the weekend. Let there be no doubts: our aim in going to England is to win!"
