A1 Team France heads to the ninth round of the new A1 Grand Prix Series at the historical Parque Fundidora Monterrey in Mexico aiming for its twelfth win of the season with nominated driver Alexandre Prémat. With twelve podium finishes out of sixteen races this season between its two drivers, the French team's last win came courtesy of Nicolas Lapierre in the the last race in Sentul, Indonesia. The team consolidated its championship lead on 132 points.

"I've watched a number of champ car races on the Monterrey track," said Prémat. "It looks like the track will be very technical and physically demanding. It'll be interesting and we'll do our best to put on an excellent show for the enthusiastic Mexican crowd. I'll be travelling to Mexico quite late because of the conflicting dates of the 2006 GP2 tests in Paul Ricard but I'm sure it won't put us at a disadvantage. I'm in great shape and feeling very strong. After taking the team to five wins and one second place already season, I'm ready for to add more to my tally."

Jean-Paul Driot, team principal, A1 Team France commented: "The race in Mexico will be as challenging as it was in Indonesia. We need to continue fighting hard to extend our championship lead even further. There's no room for hesitation of complacency. We'll be going for it ignoring the pressure and pushing as hard as ever. This weekend will be crucial for the championship."
