McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa was the quickest of five drivers at Jerez, at this week's programme got underway.

The Spaniard was joined by Gary Paffett as the Woking team continued its programme in interim MP4-20s. The two-day test will focus on further tyre development work with Michelin.

Running began mid-morning due to the cold, damp conditions. de la Rosa leaving the garage just after 11am, and Gary taking to the track shortly before 11:50am.

Fresh from the weekend's launch at the Toyota manufacturing facility at Valenciennes, Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli returned to track action today.

The Italian had a productive day as he continued to put the new TF106 through its paces. Ralf was less fortunate, missing out on most of the afternoon's running for an engine change.

Both drivers are scheduled to spend a total of three days at the Spanish circuit collecting more data for setting up the TF106 with its Bridgestone tyres.

WilliamsF1's planned testing activity consisted solely of practice starts. Consequently, Nico Rosberg did not complete any timed laps today, but concluded a full and scheduled programme.
