Ferrari test driver, Luca Badoer, has crashed heavily at Jerez, the Italian's second accident in as many days.

The Italian, driving a 2005 Ferrari with a (restricted) V10, crashed at the hairpin, virtually the same spot where he crashed on Wednesday.

According to witnesses, the car got out of shape in the approach to the hairpin, then spun off , hit a wall, was launched into the air, finally coming to rest in a tyre barrier.

He was subsequently taken to the circuit's medical facility for a check-up, but was leter released.

"The car is damaged but the driver is okay, which is what is most important," said a Ferrari spokesman, according to Reuters. "We are still investigating to see if there is any relationship with what happened yesterday. He had quite a crash on Wednesday."

The accident, which happened just before noon, followed another heavy crash involving McLaren test driver, Alexander Wurz. The Austrian's car went off following a suspected technical failure.

Meanwhile, it's understood that Ralf Schumacher has withdrawn form the Jerez test, following a reoccurence of the back pain that afflicted him in early 2004, when he was with WilliamsF1.
