Following reports in the Portuguese media, a number of readers have contacted Pitpass this morning (Friday) claiming that it that Tiago Monteiro has officially signed for Midland F1 for 2006.

However, on being contacted by Pitpass, Midland F1 Press Officer, Annouck Heinrichs, said that no announcement is due today, tomorrow or maybe even within the next week.

"You can take a day off," she told Pitpass editor, Chris Balfe, "you can take a few days off, because we are not making any announcements."

Asked about reports in the Portuguese media, she said: "It's only official when we say it's official."
