Last week Fairuz Fauzy tested the A1 Grand Prix car for the first time and after completing two and half days of testing alongside Alex Yoong, he was extremely impressed with the car and the series.

"The A1GP car is one of the most powerful cars I have driven so far in my racing career and one of the best as well. The reliability and performance is so impressive. The series will no doubt go far, looking at the efforts that A1GP and all the teams have put into the test." said Fairuz.

"I felt very comfortable in the car and with the team over these past three days and am looking forward to the start of the season in just a month's time."

A1 Team Malaysia's Jack Cunningham said: "Fairuz has shown through his three days work that he is a really top-class driver. We are exceptionally fortunate to have 2 drivers of this calibre in A1 Team Malaysia in Fairuz and Alex."

Fairuz clocked the ninth fastest time overall over the two and a half days of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit to head off many of the more fancied teams who are participating in this first ever inter-nation championship.

The first round, the A1 Grand Prix of Great Britain, will be held at the Brands Hatch circuit on the 23rd to 25th September. Twenty five teams from six continents are expected to line the start grid racing for the pride of their nations.
