Nelson Piquet Jr will take part this week in the first group test of the forthcoming A1 Grand Prix series, for Team Brazil. On Wednesday and Thursday, 3/4 August, he will test at Silverstone UK for the team, which is preparing for the brand new winter series. He will drive alongside compatriots Danilo Dirani and João Paulo Oliveira.

The A1 Team Brazil was launched on 29 June in São Paulo by two-times F1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, and three-times FIFA World Football Player of the Year, Ronaldo. Brazil is renowned for bringing some of the greatest sporting legends of all time to the world stage and A1 Team Brazil will give two drivers the opportunity to demonstrate their talent in this highly-anticipated series. And as the world's sixth largest country, there is a potential 182 million fans for the talented two that are selected.

Nelson Piquet Jr: "A1 Grand Prix is a category that is going to be really interesting. It's different to other categories and so people are really paying attention to it. I'm looking forward to testing the car. I don't really know what to expect and as it is the first time the cars will be tested, the objectives are really to get to know the car and learn more about what the category is all about. I'm sure both days are going to be very productive for everybody involved, the drivers, the teams and the organisers. It should be a good couple of days."
