Ahead of the first of today's two free practice sessions, the air temperature is 29 degrees C, and the track temperature is 30 degrees.

The big news this morning, is that Jordan has confirmed that it will continue with Toyota engines in 2006. All eyes now on WilliamsF1, who have yet to announce who will supply their engines, and indeed who will drive their cars.

Yesterday, with five teams fielding a third car, we had 25 drivers on track, today we return to the 'traditional' 20 race drivers.

At 09:00 precisely, the Minardi duo gets the session underway. Shortly afterwards, Monteiro takes to the track, as does Juan Pablo Montoya.

Karthikeyan and Raikkonen are on track, but like their predecessors, they merely complete an installation lap, testing out the slippery, dusty, Hungaroring track surface.

And that's it. Once Karthikeyan and Raikkonen return to their garages, there's no action, everything comes to a stop as we wait to see who will be next to venture out.

We wait, and wait, and wait.

Finally, fifteen minutes later, Monteiro leaves the Jordan garage for the second time. Is this apparent caution really due to the track surface, or do the teams know something about tomorrow's weather?

As Monteiro leaves laps the track, Doornbos and Albers decide to join him, as does Fernando Alonso.

Woo-Hoo, as Albers posts the first time of the day (27.747), Ralf Schumacher leaves the Toyota garage. Looks like we could finally see some action.

A 1:24.022 sees Alonso go quickest, as Villeneuve and Fisichella decide that it's time to do some work. Michael Schumacher and Takuma Sato opt to follow their example.

Ralf goes second quickest (25.685), ahead of Albers, Monteiro and Villeneuve (27.935).

It's a Renault 1-2 as Giancarlo Fisichella goes second quickest, the Italian posting 1:24.200. Elsewhere, Takuma Sato goes fourth (25.523).

Following yesterday's frustration, Michael gets today's session off to a good start, going quickest with a 1:23.330, as his brother goes second (23.512).

Next time around the World Champion improves to 1:23.142, as Massa goes sixth (25.215).

As Villeneuve improves to seventh (25.379), Trulli and Klien leave their garages. Next time around the Canadian improves yet again, leapfrogging his teammate to take fifth (24.473).

David Coulthard and Mark Webber are on track, as Trulli goes third (23.935), having gone quickest in the final sector. On his previous lap the Italian made a mistake and went off, but somehow kept it under control.

As Heidfeld leaves the pits, Massa improves to fifth (24.089), splitting the two Renaults.

With eight minutes remaining, Montoya, Raikkonen and Button are all on track.

The Finn goes quickest in the first sector, as Montoya goes quickest of all, the Colombian crossing the line at 1:22.870. Fernando Alonso slips into second with a 1:23.087.

A 1:22.253 sees Raikkonen go straight to the top of the timesheets, as Button goes thirteenth (24.675).

Trulli has another minor off, as does Webber, as Montoya goes quickest with a 1:21.980. Teammate Raikkonen consolidates second with a 1:22.032. Michael Schumacher takes third with a 1:22.338.

Barrichello finally posts a time, but it's only good enough for twentieth (27.107).

As Raikkonen goes quickest in the second sector, Webber goes eighth, but is almost instantly demoted to ninth by Barrichello.

A 1:21.686 sees Kimi go quickest, as Michael slips in behind with a 1:21.842, the German pushing the F2005 to its limit.

In the final moments, Trulli improves to sixth.

The session ends with Raikkonen quickest, ahead of Michael, Montoya, Ralf, Alonso, Trulli, Heidfeld, Barrichello, Webber and Massa.
