As six of the teams that withdrew from the United States Grand Prix reveal that they are to appeal against today's decision by the World Motor Sport Council - namely that they were found guilty on two charges - the seventh team, Red Bull, is understood to be considering its options.

With many believing that there is far more to the Indy story - namely the political tug-of-war over the future of F1, and the threat of a breakaway series - it could be perceived that Red Bull's absence from the joint statement issued tonight is evidence that the Austrian outfit will side with Ferrari, which will supply its engines in 2006.

Leaving a meeting with fellow team principals, Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, told Reuters: "Basically, we didn't want to rush into a hasty decision."
