FIA president Max Mosley has today sent the following to the team principals of the ten Formula One teams.

Today the FIA secretariat sent you an invitation to a meeting on April 15, together with draft minutes from the 28 January meeting.

I was disappointed that, with the exception of Ferrari, no-one attended the last meeting. Its purpose was to discuss the points raised by the four teams (BAR, Ferrari, Renault and Williams) who responded to my request for proposals to save costs and to also examine any ideas the other teams might have put forward during the meeting. I made a list of the four teams' proposals, many of which seemed quite promising, and circulated them together with the actual documents received. They seemed to offer a good basis for a productive meeting.

It is only through discussion that progress can be made. Now is the time to begin talking about 2008, because the sooner we start the more likely we are to find consensus. At the same time it may still be possible to reach unanimous agreement for a limited number of cost cutting measures during the current Concorde Agreement, perhaps as early as 2006. Soon after the 15 April meeting, change for 2006 will become increasingly difficult and/or expensive and unanimity will no longer be achievable.

I urge you to come to the 15 April meeting. If you have any comments on the conclusions of the 28 January meeting, please let us have them so we can circulate them in good time for the 15 April meeting. Also if you have any radical ideas for 2008, now is the time to put them forward.
