New Jordan owner, Alex Shnaider, looks determined to make an immediate impact on his latest acquisition.

It's been revealed that the people behind Midland F1 are to host a special 'meet the press' event in Moscow on February 25

Since revealing his Midland F1 project, Shnaider has made no secret of the fact that he wants his team to reflect his Russian origins, though he subsequently spent time in Israel before moving to Canada.

The Jordan team will exist in 2005 in name only, with founder Eddie Jordan playing a key role before settling back in a commercial role in 2006.

Contrary to previous reports, the EJ15 will not be launched at this event, instead Shnaider and his team will launch the Midland F1 project in Red Square in an event to which will hopefully be attended by Russian president Vladimir Putin and Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, who has long harboured a dream to take the sport into Russia, is also expected to attend the event.
