As a result of torrential rain, and with just a couple of hours before the start, there is talk of all 20 cars starting today's Italian GP from the pitlane.

All the cars have been set up with virtually no downforce for yesterday's dry qualifying. Trying to run them like this in the current conditions could be lethal.

We understand that rather than complete the first lap and then return to the pits to change their cars, almost the entire grid is opting to start from the pitlane. This means that the cars can be altered to suit the conditions and fuel levels can be topped up.
