Trulli dismisses BAR link

NEWS STORY
15/08/2004

When it became clear that Jenson Button wanted out of BAR, one of the first names to be linked with the vacant seat at Brackley was that of Jarno Trulli, the only driver other than Michael Schumacher to win a race this season.

Having lost his seat at Renault, a move to BAR, would seem (to some) to be a wise move. Not so, says the Italian.

"I don't think so," he said of a possible move to Brackley. "I've been talking to a lot of teams. I can't say we have signed anything or have anything finalised but we are close. I think my future will be revealed in September."

It's widely tipped that the former Kart world champion will join Toyota, where he would link up with Ralf Schumacher. However, with Ralf almost certain to be given 'top billing' in addition to the fact that Toyota has, thus far, failed to deliver the goods, many believe that the Japanese team is not Trulli's best option.
