WilliamsF1s and Toyotas excluded from Canada results

We understand that both the WilliamsF1s of Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya, and the Toyota's of Cristiano da Matta and Olivier Panis, have been excluded from the results of the Canadian GP.

It's understood that after the race it was discovered that the brake ducts on the WilliamsF1s and Toyotas were found not to comply with the regulations.

It's worth noting that Patrick Head is not in attendance this weekend, and that this is Sam Michael's first race in full charge of the team.

Talking to a representative of pitpass, Sam Michael said: "The front brake ducts on Ralf's and Juan Pablo's cars are not in accordance with the regulations. It was a mistake and it was unintentional. There was no performance gain and there was no gain in cooling because the inlet area was not bigger.

"However the duct was not in compliance with the technical regulations and therefore we accept the decision.
