Caterham has revealed that Heikki Kovalainen will participate in FP1 in Belgium this weekend and again at Monza.
The Finn, who was dropped by the Anglo-Malaysian outfit at the end of 2012 when he was unable - and unwilling - to provide financial backing, subsequently rejoined in April as reserve driver.
Since then he has taken part in the Friday sessions in Bahrain and again at Barcelona, though he didn't take part in the Young Driver Test at Silverstone.
Announcing the move on Twitter the team revealed that the Finn will replace Charles Pic in FP1 this weekend and Giedo Van der Garde at Monza.
